IJ13226: NETSTAT FAILS WITH SYMBOL RESOLUTION ERROR APPLIES TO AIX 6100-09

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When bos.net.tcp.client is updated to 7.1.5.30 or higher
  while bos.rte.libc stays below 7.1.5.30 the netstat
  command fails with a symbol resolution error:
  
  1800-106 An error occurred:
  Could not load program netstat:
  Symbol resolution failed for netstat because:
  Symbol secure_system (number 45) is not exported from
  dependent module /usr/lib/libc.a[shr_64.o].
  
  This may also apply for other commands (not necessary in
  netwok context) which use the system() subroutine.
  

Local fix

• Install bos.rte.libc 7.1.5.30.
  

Problem summary

• netstat command may fail with symbol resolution error, if
  fileset bos.net.tcp.client is updated and fileset bos.rte.libc
  is not updated to the same level or higher as
  bos.net.tcp.client.
  

Problem conclusion

• For fileset bos.net.tcp.client prerequisites has been changed
  to correctly reflect dependency on fileset bos.rte.libc
