Cognos BI / TM1 security error message: “TM1-ERR-0061 The MDX query submitted to TM1 server failed"

Problem

Cognos BI 10 / TM1 10.1 security, all user and group permissions set correctly on Cognos and TM1 side, user getting following error message when running report against particular TM1 based datasource: “TM1-ERR-0061 The MDX query submitted to TM1 server failed during execution. The TM1 error code is 501. The TM1 error message is "SELECT: User does not have read access (rte 34)"

Symptom

User/users from particular group not able to run report against TM1 datasource, getting errors:
Error when running report against particular TM1 datasource:

“TM1-ERR-0061 The MDX query submitted to TM1 server failed during execution. The TM1 error code is 501. The TM1 error message is "SELECT: User does not have read access (rte 34)"

Other reports that use different TM1 datasource run ok.

“DPR-ERR-2082 An error occurred. Please contact your administrator. The complete error has been logged by CAF with SecureError ID: …......”
