Error description

  • It is possible that by mistake someone adds the same IP address
on another interface. When this happens, the routing table
is not updated properly and when the bad IP is removed from
the list of interfaces, the routing table is affected
leaving the corresponding entries for that IP in a bad state.

is not updated properly and when the bad IP is removed from
the list of interfaces, the routing table is affected
leaving the corresponding entries for that IP in a bad state.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • This fixes the problem by making sure the routing table entry
is added with the corresponding interface name so that when
the bad IP is removed, the correct route entries are removed
as well.
