APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • With AIX NFS client (can be any supported NFS version),
when there are several thousands of NFS mounts, the
system may behave sluggish for operations over the NFS
filesystems. kdb or dump will indicate that there are
several waiter threads for the NFS global rtable lock.

Local fix

  • Reduce the number of NFS mounted filesystems.

Problem summary

  • Commands like "df" will hang and
    NFS mounts will be slow

Problem conclusion

  • In flushlist(), check to see if vnode has pages
and is marked as either dirty or mmap'd
and in rflush(), remove this same check
