Error description

  • get_dev_nums kernel routine fails to fetch device numbers when
1)the VG is not available
2) The file system is not mounted.

At times it crashes after getting into an infinite recursive
looping between get_dev_nums() and fp_open.

looping between get_dev_nums() and fp_open.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Used lookupname LFS api to fetch device numbers rather than i
using fp_open& fp_stat.
