APAR status

Error description

  • Running snap with the -L flag will print errors if
volume group names contain dots or dashes.

The snap will complete successfully but will be larger
than it should be.

Local fix

  • Ignore the errors.

Problem summary

  • Assumptions in the lvm snap function don't consider VG names
with dots or dashes.

Problem conclusion

  • Algorithm corrected to properly handle VG names with dots or
dashes.
