"No such file or directory" at installation Rational Method Composer on IBM Open Linux

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to install IBM Rational Method Composer (RMC) from the launchpad program on a Standard IBM Open Linux client result in the error "No such file or directory".

Symptom

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Highlight the launchpad.sh file located in the root directory of the RMC package.

  2. Run the launchpad.sh file.




Expected Result: The installation procedure opens a dialog window to prompt to install Rational Method Composer.

Actual Result: Installation fails with the following error:

$ ./launchpad.sh
cp: cannot stat `/home/user_name/DownloadDirector/disk1/launchpad/lib': No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `/home/user_name/DownloadDirector/disk1/launchpad/../jre': No such file or directory
/usr/bin/less
$

Cause

Rational Method Composer does not support Standard IBM Linux Open Client.
