and then the command 'test' is used to evaluate this
variable, it will fail with an error message such as:

./test.sh[17]: test: argument expected

Or:

/tmp/test.sh[17]: test: 0403-004 Specify a parameter with
this command.


For example:

# testvar=-
# test $testvar
ksh: test: 0403-004 Specify a parameter with this
command.
