APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the WWPN or WWNN of a target changes for some reason,
error recovery actions are enforced for the initiator by
an SCN event. While changes of a WWPN are correctly
processed, changes of a WWNN are not properly processed.
This may cause a loop in error recovery resulting in a
number of FCP_ERR14 errpt entries in the error log.

In some cases, cfgdev and/or cfgmgr, as well as
    other commands may hang.

This defect does NOT apply to adapters which are
8 GB (or slower). For those adapters, reference
APAR IV87358 (and its sysrouted APARs).

Local fix

  • Without the fix, the only option to recover from the
hanging commands is to reboot the host.
