IV95054: LDD FAILS TO FIND CORRECT DEPENDENCY LIBRARIES WHEN BOTH 32 & 64

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If shared objects for 32 and 64 bits libraries have the
same name, ldd might fail to find the correct
dependencies
from the correct library.
It will use the first found object either it is 32 or 64
bits, either the application is 32 or 64bits.
Thus is might find 32 bit applications depending on 64
bit
libraries, or the reverse.

Local fix

  • None if customer can't change the 32 & 64 objects names
in the libraries.
Otherwise differenciate 32 & 64 names in libraries, I.E
_32 and _64.

Problem summary

  • If shared objects for 32 and 64 bits libraries have the same
name,ldd might fail to find the correct dependencies from
the library.

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed the code to find the correct dependencies from the
library.
