APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Ganesha Could not stat directory failed with Invalid
argument. ganesha.nfsd open_root_fd failes with Get root
handle for /gpfs/prodfs failed with Invalid argument (22)
when configured with SHORT_FILE_HANDLE=True

Local fix

  • set SHORT_FILE_HANDLE=False if possible:

mmnfs configuration change SHORT_FILE_HANDLE=FALSE

Note: SHORT_FILE_HANDLE=True is required for VMWare
clients.

Problem summary

  • GPFS file handle format changed causing ganesha updates to fail
with old file handles.

Problem conclusion

  • Fix Ganesha NFS server to honor old file handles as well as new
file handles.
