Executing JSF application on WebSphere Application Server results in "java.lang.OutOfMemory" error

Problem

Attemps to execute JSF application that has an older version of JSF Widget Library (JWL) libraries shipped by IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software (RAD) on IBM WebShpere Application Server or IBM WebShpere Network Deployment Server results in java.lang.OutOfMemory error.

Symptom

You see error messages similar to the following:
