IV84253: CES IP ADDRESS TAKEOVER FAILURES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• It looks like the CES code wrote an empty cesiplist file
  into CCR.  The CES code needs check on empty files and
  make sure the code has the cesFailoverLock when calling
  mmccr fput.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Under some rare node failing conditions (race
  condition), the CES ip address configuration
  file cesiplist in the CCR could end up empty.
  If a node is not listed in the cesiplist file,
  this node will never get a CES ip assigned again.
  So with the empty file, all the CES ips remain
  unassigned, no CES node will start a CES ip
  

Problem conclusion

• A function did not refresh the locally cached
  cesiplist file and wrote an empty file back to
  CCR. This was fixed.
  In addition, a check was added to never write an
  empty cesiplist file into CCR.
