Error description

  • Some ethernet adapters cause transmit failures in
half duplex mode with 10 MBPS speed.
GOENT_TX_ERR errors will be seen in the error log.
    .
After the transmit errors, the adapter hangs and
only way to recover is to reboot.
    .
Look for collision errors as a signature for this
    problem.
    .
The affected adapters are FC (feature code):

    5706
    5740
    5767
    5271
    5717

Problem summary

  • GOENT_TX_ERR errors in AIX error log when running the
Ethernet adapter 10Mbit Half Duplex mode.
