OA48704: ABEND U0910 RUNNING VMA AFTER INSTALLING PTFS FOR OA47384 OR OA41969

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• While the PTFs for OA47384 the corrected the reported U0910
  abends, other cases have been found where a U0910 abend can
  occur.
  In the reported case, the VOLUME REPORT had been requested.
  

Local fix

• Remove PTFs for OA47384 and OA41969. These are:
  UA76397, UA76398, UA76832, UA76833

Problem conclusion

• Instead of a U0910 abend occuring when fields overflow,
  a message will be issued, the field will be filled with
  exclamation points and processing will continue.

  Explanation:  A data set or segment of a data set on a single
  tape has more than 2,147,483,647 blocks.  The program will
  issue a user 908 abend.
  User Response:  Contact volume mount analyzer support.
  
  GFTA209T  KB/OPENS GREATER THAN 2,147,483,647
  Explanation:  Average size per OPEN is greater than
  2,147,483,647 KB.  The program will issue a user 909 abend.

  GFTA210W  PRINT VALUE OVERFLOW
  Explanation:  A value to be printed in a report has
  overflowed.
  The program will print the field as a series of exclamation
  points and set the return code to four.

  GFTA211T  TRACKS REQUIRED GREATER THAN 2,147,483,647
  Explanation:  The number of 3390 tracks required for the data
  or volume is greater than 2,147,483,647.  The program will
  issue a user 911 abend.

  Report changes:
  The 3390-3 TRACKS field in the VOLUME REPORT may contain six
  digits followed by a K or an M (for 1000s of bytes or 1000000s
  of bytes.)
  
  The AVG PER DATA SET field in the TAPE DATA SET STATISTICS
  report can be in MB or GB.
  
  If a report field overflows, it will be printed with all 9s.
  
  See field descriptions printed in the reports for other changes.
