Error description

  • When a hyperswap occurs and the secondary PPRC device (old PPRC
primary) is in a soft fenced state, the soft fenced status is
not displayed in DEVSERV PATHS. Also, soft fenced status is
not displayed in DEVSERV QDASD when the volume is offline.

DS QD QHA (query host access) doesn't display information if the
control blocks have not been built by the host because none of
the devices have been previously online.

Problem conclusion

  • 1. DEVSERV PATHS command is updated to detect and report Soft
and Spid fence conditions for PPRC secondary volumes.

    2. DEVSERV QDASD command is updated to detect and display Soft
and Spid fence condtions for offline volumes.

    3. DEVSERV QDASD with QHA option is updated to read feature
codes directly from the device and display QHA information
even if the subsystem control blocks have not been built.
