Error description
Reporting customer observed that during createJvm process in Java batch, unhandled exception Type=Illegal instruction vmState=0xffffffff issued due to the 0C1 ABEND in J9VMDllMain. The problem did not occur again after cancelling the job or otherwise restarting the job. Verification Steps: For shared library modules there is an index created which is a sequential number. The first module loaded would have 00000001, the second would have 000000002, and so on. Modules loaded from non-shared libraries, the index is extracted from the TOD Clock value. If the selected bytes of the TOD Clock happen to have a value like 00000001 or one of the other similar looking shared library module index values, this problem may occur. To see if the APAR might apply to your case, examine the TOD Clock values over the SYSTRACE range to see the 3rd - 6th bytes of any have values like 00000xxx, in which bits 0 and 1 of the 3rd byte are ignored. For example, using the marked bytes below, the bits of the byte with CO would be ignored, so the remaining marked bytes of the systrace TOD Clock value would be 00000009. This would be an indicator this APAR might apply to your case. CD76C00000096390 ^^^^^^^^
Local fix
Re-run the job
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect C_WSA for a program loaded * * from a shared library * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The Loader may create an incorrect C_WSA (deferred segment) for a program object (module) from a shared library after confusing its Loader Token with the Loader Token for a program object from a non-shared library.
Problem conclusion
IEWLCLDX will differentiate between shared and non-shared library loader tokens while finding the appropriate LFMD data area for use in resolving a deferred segment.
