APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • PFA invokes RTD internally to validate and verify certain
conditions. When RTD is called to process an Asidlist, RTD
incorrectly processes ALL Asids on the system, then attempts to
discard any that are NOT on the list.
This causes unnecessary overhead and will exhibit itself as
    high CPU when RTD runs.

    ****************************************************************
PFA invokes RTD internally to validate low metric activity
for certain checks. When PFA invokes RTD, it can invoke it
for an ASID, a set of ASIDs, or for the total system. RTD
erroneously analyzes all requests as a request for the total
system which results in RTD processing unnecessary data for
requests for specific ASIDs or sets of ASIDs.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been corrected to process request correctly.
