Error description

• ABEND0C9 in IRAPALPC HBB7780 +15C0 with WLM LPAR weight
  management enabled. WLM is assessing a weight change between two
  LPARS and the code is calculating the LOCAL_PI_DELTA for the
  service class on the donor system using the Local and Sysplex PI
  (performance index) samples. In a case where there are many
  Sysplex samples but only a few Local samples the calculation may
  overflow and result in an ABEND0C9.

  IRAPALPC and IRAEVCVL use the procedure DEL_SYSPLEX_PI_TO
  _LOCAL_PI to convert a sysplex pi delta to a local pi delta.
  If the value in pcd_spte_sysplex_pi_obs is much higher than the
  value in pcd_spte_local_pi_obs, the result may overflow and
  result in an ABEND0C9.
  

Problem conclusion

• The procedure DEL_SYSPLEX_PI_TO_LOCAL_PI in IRAEVCVL and
  IRAPALPC has been changed to check for an overflow. The result
  of the procedure is limited to an acceptable value in the cases
  which caused the ABEND0C9 in the past.
