in concurrent mode, the errpt command may sometimes complain
about invalid error log entries.

in concurrent mode, the errpt command may sometimes complain
about invalid error log entries.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The errpt commands needs to use shared read locks on the error
log file to ensure that the error daemon is not updating the
log file at the same time that the errpt command is attempting
to read from it.
