IZ88497: BOS INSTALL OF BOS.CLUSTER.RTE INCLUDED IN /USR SPOT FAILS APPLIES TO AIX 6100-06

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When bos.cluster.rte fileset is included in the /usr
  SPOT,
  AIX installation fails with the following error:

Local fix

• Remove bos.cluster.rte fileset from /usr SPOT and install
  it during post_install phase.
  

Problem summary

• When bos.cluster.rte fileset is included in the /usr SPOT,
  AIX installation fails with the symbol resolution error
  (/../usr/lib/libpthreads.a(shr_xpg5.o)) for ccluser-chk.
  

Problem conclusion

• Build the binary clust_chk without mutlithreading libraries,
  the program does not use any threads.
