  • Install of RPM packages in chroot environment may fail
with
following errors:
lsfs: 0506-915 No record matching /<client>:/alt_inst/opt
was found in /etc/filesystems.
fs_size_check[34]: /usr/sbin/ls:  not found.
Cannot find file system <client>:/alt_inst/opt
fs_size_check[113]:  RSUM = RSUM - ASUM : 0403-009
The specified number is not valid for this command.

Local fix

  • Install the RPM packages after the migration.

Problem summary

  • Customer will get the following when trying to install an RPM
using geninstall in a private wpar:

# geninstall -d /tmp/images -Z R:expect-5.42.1-3.aix6.1.ppc.rpm
