Problem
Customer has been happily using standard reports within Controller for a while, with good performance. However, then the reports start to run very slowly - in particular “Trial Balance with Drilldown”.
Symptom
Example #1
In one real-life customer example (using Controller 10.1.0) “Trial Balance with Drilldown” took 40 or more seconds to run.
- This compares with only taking a few (e.g. 4) seconds in the past.
Example #2
In a different real-life customer example (using Controller 10.2.0):
- Originally, report #1 took 600 seconds (10 minutes)
- After database optimisation (with rebuild indexes) report #1 took 42 seconds (14 times faster!)
- Originally, report #2 took 943 seconds
- After database optimisation (with rebuild indexes) report #2 took 140 seconds (almost 7 times faster!)
