How can some arrays be displayed correctly by the gdb debugger

Troubleshooting

Problem

For IBM XL Fortran for Linux, V14.1, some arrays cannot be displayed correctly by the gdb debugger 7.2 or later. A warning message indicating invalid bounds of the array is generated.

Symptom

When arrays like integer ARR(1000) are defined in the source code, and the gdb debugger 7.2 or later is used to debug the program, the following warning message is generated:

(gdb) warning: Range for type (null) has invalid bounds 1..-24
type = INTEGER (-24)
