APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When APPCM is used for disabled flashcopy volumes,
commands
to these disks can hang due to path ping-pong. The ASCQ
8400
condition that storage returns does not get handled
properly
by APPCM

Local fix

  • Use RDAC instead of APPCM

Problem summary

  • IO hang on disabled flash copy disk, and continuos path
switching would take place.

Problem conclusion

  • The IO is restricted to disabled flashcopy disk.
