Abstract
After installation of FP3 for TBSM 4.2.1, the TIP Dashboard Server may hang after users log on.
The issue is fixed by TIP APAR PM56111 which is shipped in IBM Tivoli Business Service Manager V4.2.1 Interim Fix3a (4.2.1.3-TIV-BSM-IF0003a). This Interim fix must be installed immediately after TBSM 4.2.1 Fix Pack 3, whether the systems are displaying symptoms or not.

After installation of FP3 for TBSM 4.2.1, the TIP Dashboard Server may hang after users log on. This does not happen on all systems. It has been reported on a number of systems when users have (non-shared) user portlet preferences, and console preference profile with a TIP view specified.
If the server does hang, the following steps will allow the server to be available again:
1. Restart TIP Dashboard server
2. Login as tipadmin
3. Open and re-save all console preference profiles
4. Other users may not logon.
The error seen in the SystemOut.log file in TIPProfile/logs/server1 directory are as follows:
