Question

How to select P8 document classes dynamically with in IBM Content Collector ?

Cause

P8 document classes can now be selected dynamically through IBM Content Collector provided that the Symbolic name of the document classes must match the name provided by user.

Answer

  • Go to P8 Create Document task on your defined task route. Under “Property Mappings” section select “Advanced” button.

  • Select the check box “ Use an expression to determine the class.

  • Select the button for "Expression Editor"

  • On the Expression Editor window use the Advanced Expression Builder to match the Document Class Name.
In this example, I am using the File/File Name however, user can define a File System Custom Metadata or enter a Literal value, map to specific Metadata, use Regular expression to figure out which Document classes to be dynamically used.

  • Select OK and Save
  • Run IBM Content Collector Task Routing services.If IBM Content Collector finds a match between the user specified P8 Document Class name to the existing Symbolic P8 Document class name then, the document will now be archived using the Dynamic selection of document class.

Note: IBM Content Collector does not create dynamic P8 document classes and only maps to the existing P8 document classes.
