Troubleshooting
Problem
When you run an IBM® WebSphere® Transformation Extender V8.4 map that uses the Xerces XML parser, the map fails and returns the "Invalid metadata location" error message.
Cause
The hints file must be accessible to WebSphere Transformation Extender when:
- The DocumentVerification card setting is set to "Never"
- The Metadata card setting is not assigned a default location for the XML Schema
- The input XML file has a hints file that contains the metadata and schema attributes
If the hints file is not accessible, the map fails and returns the "Invalid metadata location" error message.
In earlier versions of WebSphere Transformation Extender, the validation process ignored this error and validated the input data as "Well Formed (XERCES only)".
Resolving The Problem
To enable the validation process to continue validating the input data without using the hints file and to parse it to verify that it is well-formed:
- Set the DocumentVerification card to "Well Formed (XERCES only)."
- Rebuild the map.
- Deploy the map.
