  • Closed as duplicate of another APAR.

Error description

  • The z/OS Management Facility Server Procs expect to run for an
unlimited amount of CPU-Time, but do not include the
TIME=NOLIMIT parameter. This can lead to ABENDs and SIGXCPU
signals within the z/OSMF Address Spaces.

Depending on the area of code executing, and the type of system
limit in place, the exact symptoms of this problem may differ.
The problem may manifest as an ABENDS522 or as a failure of the
underlying Java Virtual Machine due to a SIGXCPU signal.

Local fix

  • Specify TIME=NOLIMIT in the z/OSMF Procs or in the STC JCL used
to launch the z/OSMF Server and Angel processes.
