Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere MQ for z/OS Version 7 * * Release 1 Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When administratively defining * * subscriptions, a default user id in the * * SUBUSER attribute of the * * SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB object is not copied * * into new SUB objects. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a subscription object is created by an administrator, the default behavior is fill the SUBUSER attribute of the new object with the user ID of the current administrator. Customers may wish to override this behavior and specify a default user ID to be used for new SUB objects. After applying the PTF for APAR PM89868, the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB object will be checked when defining a new SUB object. If it is not blank and the DEFINE command has not explicitly specified a SUBUSER attribute then the default SUBUSER value from the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB object will be used instead of the current administrators ID. If the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB does not have a SUBUSER value set then the behavior will remain as before.
Problem conclusion
DEFINE SUB processing has been amended to consider the value of the SUBUSER attribute in the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB object when defining new SUB objects. In the WebSphere MQ Information Center, the page that describes the Publish/subscribe security to be updated with the information described below: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv7/v7r1/ topic/com.ibm.mq.doc/ps19550_.htm "Table 2. User IDs used for security checks for commands" is updated as follows: DEFINE LIKE: SUBUSER specified and blank: Use the administrator ID SUBUSER specified and completed: Use the user ID specified in SUBUSER SUBUSER not specified: Use the user ID from the LIKE subscription DEFINE with no LIKE: SUBUSER specified and blank: Use the administrator ID SUBUSER specified and completed: Use the user ID specified in SUBUSER SUBUSER not specified: Use the user ID from the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.SUB subscription - if blank, use the administrator ID ALTER: SUBUSER specified and blank: Use the administrator ID SUBUSER specified and completed: Use the user ID specified in SUBUSER SUBUSER not specified: Use the user ID from the existing subscription 100Y CSQMCNSB
