Error description

  • When starting the zOSMF server, the user may recieve a:

CWWKS4106E: LTPA configuration error. Unable to create or read
    LTPA key file

Error message in their joblog. This is caused by a double entry
of the izu.ltpa.key.password parameter in the
    USERDIR/configuration/servers/zosmfServer/bootstrap.properties
    file of the server.

Keywords: LTPA Key zOSMF server startup bootstrap

Local fix

  • Users can re-name/delete their USERDIR/configuration/servers
directory or re-name/delete their bootstrap.properties file,
then recycle the server. This will cause the server to recreate
    a new bootstrap.properties file.

    ****************************************************************
During z/OSMF start, there were two or three copies of the
property of LTPA key existing in bootstrap.properties after
configuration step completed. The problem caused LTPA
configuration happening so that z/OSMF server was not able to
be started normally. The problem is fixed with keeping only one
entry for LTPA key in bootstrap.properties.

Problem conclusion

  • Changed the code to fix the problem.
