PI91865: ISSUES WITH DB2 SORT WHEN A FILE SIZE EXCEEDS 65,535 TRACKS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When a file size exceeds 65,535 tracks, the internal calculation
  used by Log Analysis Tool for the number of records does not
  correctly approximate the number or records. This leads to a
  smaller than needed storage amount that DB2 Sort obtains which
  could lead to an internal ABEND within DB2 Sort.

  This APAR will correct that calculation so DB2 Sort can work
  efficiently and without internal storage constraints.
