    ****************************************************************
GDPS Heat Map Transfer Utility (HMTU) is not initialized for a
new HMT group on the alternate K-system during DASD config.
This affects all HMT groups when GDPS Heat Map Transfer is
enabled for the first time of after being previously disabled.
Once the alternate K-system gets the GDPS master role, all GDPS
HMTU opperations will fail and the "GDPS HMTU NOT INITIALIZED"
messages text will be shown in the NetView log.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been corrected.

    MULTIPLE SYSTEM CONSIDERATIONS:
In order for the fix to be effective, this PTF must be installed
    on all GDPS/PPRC, GDPS/HM or GDPS/MTMM K-systems.

    ACTION REQUIRED:
Perform a DASD config, for both CKD and open disks, once the
fix is applied to ensure that GDPS HMTU is properly initialized
on both K-systems. Verify that no GEO442E SDF alert is raised
    on any of the K-systems.
