  • When no CHKP is used after database updates PITCA indicates
    nothing is accumulated:
    DFS2803I RECORD COUNT = 0000000 FOR DDNAME DFSULOG
    

Local fix

  • Add a CHKPT after database updates.
    

Problem summary

    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply APAR and use checkpoint commands in    *
    *                 update jobs.                                 *

    When batch logging is used for update jobs there is no
    checkpoint record written at the end of the update job.
    With no checkpoint record HPCA does not determine the unit
    of Recovery (UOR) is no longer In Flight.  PITCA does not
    accumulate changes for UORs.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The High Performance Change Accumulation utility is changed to
    use accounting records ACBTCHT (batch IMS ended) and ACSTOP
    (IMS stopped) to determine the UOR is no longer In Flight.
