PI37643: INCORRECT DATA INSERTING IMS LOGICAL CHILD SEGMENT

Error description

• This APAR addresses the following problems related to IMS
  processing:
  1) Incorrect data is inserted into columns when the column map
  specifies a function other than copy.
  2) If a Column Map Exit or the TRANS function is specified a
  S0C1
  abend similar to the following may result:
  CEE3201S The system detected an operation exception (System
  Completion Code=0C1).

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  * Apply the provided fix.                                      *

  Optim inserts IMS segments hierarchically one database at a
  time.  When a logical child insert cannot be completed due to a
  missing logical parent, Optim postpones the insertion of the
  segment.  After inserting all of the databases, Optim tries
  again to do the insertion.  Depending on the complexity of the
  logical relationships this may take several iterations.  After
  the first iteration the storage associated with the requested
  Column Map functions is released causing the processing of the
  Column Map during the 2nd to nth iteration to be incorrect.
  This caused problems (1) and (2).
  Incorrect freeing of a heap caused problem (3).
  

Problem conclusion

• The storage cleanup processing has been altered and no longer
  occurs within the iterations.
