Error description

  • Message DSNX881I message may occur in DB2MSTR describing the
    following issue:
    DSNX881I  +201 W 194 (....) Magneto Issue...
    Unhealthy component detected..Message Status on component fsp
    at location .... is WARNING"
    In the context of the field service processor (fsp) the issue
    for which the message from above has been submitted may be
    closed automatically (because it was resolved). However, there
    is no DSNX881I message reporting the closure of the issue.
    
    The message specified above is just one example of a hardware
    (HW) issue on the IIAS platform where customers of the
    Accelerator contact IBM support to determine whether the HW
    issue still applies. In many cases such issues are related to
    delayed responses of IIAS components. After a few minutes, the
    response is notified internally and the corresponding issue is
    closed again. However the customer is left behind in
    uncertainty.

Local fix

  • Contact IBM support to get a monitoring script installed that
    makes the information about opened and closed issues contained
    in the internal IIAS issue logs available.
    Additionaly, we recommend to activate the Call-Home feature for
    early involvement of the IBM hardware support to avoid delays
    and maintain the system's stability.

Problem conclusion

  • The issue has been fixed with Accelerator maintenance level
    7.5.11.
    For the most frequent hardware-related DSNX881I messages
    mentioning MAGNETO issues, now both the opening and the closure
    of the issue are reported on the DB2MSTR console.
    Upgrade your accelerator environments accordingly.
