  Extended ZDL topology allows GDPS CA installations to benefit
  from ZDL topology at greater than Metro distances. On top of the
  usual GDPS CA & GDPS METRO combination used for a ZDL topology,
  an additional GDPS GM instance is used to replicate the log
  updates from the current GDPS CA Active region to the current
  GDPS CA standby region. The capture engine can then read the log
  updates from the GM journals and apply them in the standby
  region.
  

Problem conclusion

• This PTF changes message GEO4101E, and introduces new messages
  GEO2780E, GEO4108E, GEO4109W, GEO4173E, GEO4780E, GEO4875E, and
  GEO4876I. It also introduces a new ZDL keyword to the GDPS CA
  AAZDL option, the GDPS Metro MM3SITE option, and the GDPS Global
  - GM GM2SITE option.
  
  DOCUMENTATION CHANGES
  There are updates the GDPS Continuous Availability Planning and
  implementation Guide (ZG24-6761), to include the extended ZDL
  setup instructions and prerequisites. See file
  ZG24-6761_ZDL_Appendix.pdf, available for download from the GDPS
  Continuous Availability FTP site. There are also updates to the
  GDPS Messages & Codes manual (ZG24-6762) to include changed and
  new messages.
  
  PRODUCT DEPENDENCY
  Prior to using this enhancement, pre-requisite levels of z/OS,
  DB2 & DS8K Licensed Internal Code must be installed. Refer to
  the Preventive Service Planning information in Upgrade GDPS,
  Subset AAV2R2 (when available) for details.
  
  MULTIPLE SYSTEM CONSIDERATIONS
  This PTF must be installed on all Controlling and Production/
  Satellite systems (Metro, Global - GM, and Continuous
  Availability) prior to exploiting the new function.
