Error description
While executing a Catalog Search Interface request requesting CATFLAGS, an S0C4 can occur in IGG0CLFJ+DE8. This may also result in a loop in some cases. CATKEYS: CAT2018 CATCSI CATABEND CATPERF
Local fix
omit CATFLAGS from request
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All users of Catalog Search Interface (CSI) * * at HDZ2220 or higher, requesting field names * * CATACT, CATUCB, or CATFLAGS and not * * specifying input parameter CSIDTYPS as 'Z'. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * Abend 0C4 in the Catalog Address Space * * when using Catalog Search Interface * * (CSI) requesting field names CATACT, * * CATUCB, or CATFLAGS and not specifying * * CSIDTYPS as 'Z'. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Code is changed to check CSIDTYPS against the field names. If the CSIDTYPS is "Z", and any field name is not CATACT, CATUCB, or CATFLAGS, the CSI request is failed with return code 8 and reason code 10 (X'A'). If the CSIDTYPS are other than "Z", and a field name of CATACT CATUCB, or CATFLAGS is found, the request is failed with return code 8 and reason code 12 (X'C'). CSIDTYPS "Z" cannot appear with any other CSIDTYPS as documented in the Managing Catalogs manual. The check for CSIDTYPS of "Z" and other CSIDTYPS in the same request is strengthened.
Problem conclusion
Apply fix and rerun. SRL SC23685330 TITLE DFSMS Managing Catalogs Add the following as another paragraph to Managing Catalogs under "CSIFLDNM, Field Names" section: Field names supported only for Z entry types must not be specified in non-Z entry type requests; an 8-12 error will be issued in this case. Field names not supported for Z entry type requests will result in an 8-10 error when specified in a Z request. Under the section "Return Codes 4 and 8" add these two new reason codes: 11 CSI Resume field (CSIRESUM) is set to 'Y' and the resume name is zeroes. 12 Field names supported only for Z entry types must not be specified with non-Z entry type requests.
