OA51890: SAPI APPLICATION FAILS TO PROCESS SYSOUT AT Z/OS 2.2

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• External symptoms:
  A SAPI application (in this case CSSMTP) stops processing
  output after an error return to JES3
  Impact to customer:
    Data stops being processed
  Analysis:
    The SAPI application rejected a piece of output for a job,
  requesting the output be put on hold and not shown to the
  application again.  JES3 module IATOSSO marks the output as
  held.  Subsequently, some output chained to the failing output
  is not checked, so output that matches the selection criteria
  is not selected.
  Verification steps:
  1) running z/OS 2.2 HJS77A0
  2) SAPI application rejects a piece of output requesting it be
  held and not returned to the application again
  3) subsequent SYSOUT matching the criteria are not given to the
  application
  
  The projected closing code is PER for HJS77A0.
  

Local fix

• Two possible workarounds
  1) cancel the job associated with the rejected output
  2) issue a modify command for one of the jobs that should have
  been selected

  the rejected output, but also skipped other output whose
  OSSes (IATYOSS) was chained to the same master OSE (IATYOSE).

  The SAPISCHD routine in module IATOSOR is changed to properly

  be considered for selection.
