APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-------------------------------------------------
The Ops console direct doesn't connect. The Ops console
application stays in the connecting state and the Ops console
application can't be stopped and the PC needs a hard power off
to recover.

CORRECTION FOR APAR 'MA42392' :
-------------------------------
The newer PC's with faster processors has significantly changed
the handshake timing in which the Async ops console driver start
up needs to handle. Some of the changes, which aided the
handshake previously, in particular the handling of the RAS
connection sending the Monitor keyword from the PC appears to
now be causing a problem when a it is handled like a begin CR.
The begin CR processing appeared to be missing sending the +++
data. The got negotiate processing wasn't dropping ready.

The LIC Async driver code was changed to handle the start up
handshake better in most environments for not all PCs could be
tested. It was also noted that some PC experienced problems
connecting the second time. The first connection after the ops
console application was started was successful. So the recovery
is to close ops console and restart it, a PC reboot isn't
needed.

The PTF can be applied immediately in some releases but an IPL
is needed to activate the full changes.
