'Connection refused: connect'

Troubleshooting


Problem

If you try to start the Planner or Exelerator on Cognos Express ( On BI Server try to connect from client to Cognos Connection) you get "Error" 'Connection refused: connect'. Most time you have DNS issue or maybe an wrong Domain name suffix.

Symptom

When you try to connect to BI Server or over Cognos Express any App like Planner Turbo Integrator etc...

You get on Cognos Express:

Error

'Connection refused: connect'

WHILE [CCLMsg: system text=fetching app XML file for 'provagent 8.4'from 'http://localhost:19300/pmpsvc/rcp_updates/provagent_8.4_app.xml"]

On Cognos BI

Error

'Connection refused: connect'

Can't connect to BI Server....
