Abstract
The IBM FileNet System Manager Java API provides a programmatic interface to collect performance and usage data from systems that integrate with the System Manager Listener. For example, performance counters implemented by the Content Engine, Process Engine and Application Engine can be retrieved using the System Manager Java API to display information such as remote procedure calls, call durations and Java Virtual Machine statistics. This Technote provides information needed to obtain and deploy the IBM FileNet System Manager Java API v5.0 for application development.

The IBM FileNet System Manager Java API v5.0 and the associated reference documentation is available from Fix Central as IBM FileNet P8 System Manager 5.0.0 Interim Fix 1. To install this interim fix, download the interim fix and extract the contents to a location on your hard drive. The necessary jar files and javadocs are available in the target destination.
This interim fix includes the mgrlib-5.0.0.jar file which contains the implementation for the com.filenet.pchmgrlib package. The System Manager Java API also has a run-time dependency on log4j-1.2.8.jar or later. Ensure that both of these files are registered on the JVM classpath. Also, refer to the IBM FileNet P8 5.x Hardware and Software Requirements document for information on the minimum Java Runtime Environment for the System Manager Java API.
