Problem

This technote explains how to resolve an error, Automation server cannot create object, that can occur when using IBM Rational ClearCase Automation Library on a 64 bit version of Microsoft Windows.

Symptom

Using ClearCase Automation library fails with error:

Automation server cannot create object

Example in javascript:
 // Creation of ClearCase object access                    
          CT = new ActiveXObject("ClearCase.Cleartool");            
          main();    

When it is executed with a Windows script host, the Windows dialog box reports error:
