Application of this PTF may disable or render ineffective programs that
use system memory addresses not generated by the IBM translator,
including programs that circumvent control technology designed to limit
interactive capacity to purchased levels.  This PTF may be a prerequisite
for future PTFs.  By applying this PTF you authorize and agree to the
foregoing.

This PTF is subject to the terms of the license agreement which
accompanied, or was contained in, the Program for which you are obtaining

APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
When the EVALUATE statement is used to compare National data
items of different lengths in a program that specifies a
COLLATING SEQUENCE, the compare may fail even when the extra
characters in the longer item are the National padding
characters defined for the program.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE68124 :
-----------------------------
A PTF will be issued so that the correct National padding
characters are used.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE68124 :
--------------------------------
Use reference modification so that the National items being
compared in the EVALUATE statement have the same length, or
remove the PROGRAM COLLATING SEQUENCE clause from the program.

DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM FIXED FOR APAR SE66534 :
-----------------------------------------------
When doing an ILE COBOL compile from a source stream file, the
source stream file is left in a locked state, as shown by
WRKOBJLCK. This only occurs with the first source stream file
being compiled. Subsequent compiles in the session of other
source stream files do not leave a lock on the source stream
files and copy files are also released correctly after the
compile.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE66534 :
-----------------------------
A PTF will be issued to prevent the lock on the source stream
file from remaining after the COBOL compile has completed.

CIRCUMVENTION FOR APAR SE66534 :
--------------------------------
To release the lock you can sign off and back on or use the RLSI
FSLCK
command.

Special Instructions

********************************************************************
THE FOLLOWING ARE SUPERSEDED SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS. IF THE SUPERSEDED
PTF HAS ALREADY BEEN APPLIED AND ITS SPECIAL INSTRUCTION FOLLOWED,
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO FOLLOW THAT SPECIAL INSTRUCTION AGAIN.
********************************************************************

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI52852 :
=================================================

To get this fix, add the following environment variable,
ADDENVVAR ENVVAR(QIBM_COBOL_NATIONAL_VAR) VALUE(Y) LEVEL(*SYS)

Then sign off and back on so that it takes effect. Now just compile
using CRTCBLMOD or CRTBNDCBL. You can switch the environment variable
off by changing the value from 'Y' to 'N' at either the job level or
the system level using the WRKENVVAR command.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI51811 :
=================================================

The support for moving NATIONAL data item to NUMERIC data item provided
in this PTF can only be used when corresponding runtime PTF SI51810 is
applied. If the runtime PTF is not applied, the MOVE operation will
fail.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI50632 :
=================================================

With this PTF installed, the spaces used when UNSTRING pads or fills a
receiving national data item are the 'national to national' padding
character which by default has hex value x'3000'.  The national padding
character can be set to always use x'0020' by specifying PROCESS
NTLPADCHAR(NX'0020' NX'0020' NX'0020') or by compiling with CRTBNDCBL
or CRTCBLMOD and specifying option NTLPADCHAR(*DEFAULT 'nx"0020"'
'nx"0020"').

Default Instructions

THIS PTF CAN BE APPLIED IMMEDIATE OR DELAYED.
