The logical data model to UML model transformation results in the loss of the "Logical Data Model" profile in the UML model

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to transform a logical data model into a UML model in a shell shared, non-English IBM Rational Software Architect and IBM Rational Data Architect environment results in the UML model "Logical Data Model" profile not being applied.

Symptom

The following steps reproduce the problem:

  1. Install a shell shared Rational Software Architect v7.0.0.9 (or Rational Software Architect v7.0.0.10) and Rational Data Architect v7.0.0.5 environment
  2. Create a logical data model (*.ldm file) with entities and primary keys in Rational Data Architect and save the changes
  3. Start Rational Software Architect in a language other than English with the following command line parameter:
    eclipse.exe -nl [LanguageAbbreviation_CountryAbbreviation]
  4. Import the logical data model from Step 2
  5. Create a logical data model to UML model transformation configuration with the logical data model's package as the source and the UML project as the target
  6. Run the transformation to create a UML model


Expected Result: The newly created UML model has the Logical Data Model profile applied. The Entity and Primary Key stereotypes are present within the UML model.

Actual Result: The newly created UML model does not have the Logical Data Model profile applied. The Entity and Primary Key stereotypes are absent within the UML model.
