spread vs.level plot warning - not enough unique pairs

Troubleshooting

Problem

I am examining a set of dependent variables using the Examine command (Analyze->Descriptive Statistics->Explore). I occasionally get the following warning: 'The regression slope of the spread vs.level plot cannot be computed because there are not enough unique spread/level pairs.' What exactly does this warning mean?
