APAR Error Description / Circumvention

-----------------------------------------------
Loop or hang occurs within the Get Spooled File Data (QSPGETSP)
API when using IBM OnDemand to archive spooled files that
included several "empty" spooled files that had been saved and
later restored to the IBM i system.

All of the spooled files were handled by OnDemand and the
QSPGETSP API prior to the save/restore process, yet something in
the save/restore process appears to have caused a change in
these empty spooled files that causes a loop when OnDemand calls
the QSPGETSP API.

This same loop can be reproduced through other uses of the
QSPGETSP API, such as using a third-party utility to dump out
these spooled files.

CORRECTION FOR APAR SE58514 :
-----------------------------
The spooled file members contain no data records, but the
spooled file attributes say they contain 1 record.  (This should
be impossible, and the root cause has not been found yet.)
QSPGETSP was waiting for the first record to be written to the
file, which of course will never happen because the file was
closed.

QSPGETSP will now issue a CPF33D6 exception if a closed spooled
file contains no records.
