Special Instructions

********************************************************************
THE FOLLOWING ARE SUPERSEDED SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS. IF THE SUPERSEDED
PTF HAS ALREADY BEEN APPLIED AND ITS SPECIAL INSTRUCTION FOLLOWED,
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO FOLLOW THAT SPECIAL INSTRUCTION AGAIN.
********************************************************************

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI42132 :
=================================================

1) End the Telnet, pass-through server, and pass-through utilities
servers:
ENDTCPSVR SERVER(*TELNET)
ENDCMNSVR SERVER(*PASTHR)
ENDCMNSVR SERVER(*UTILSVR)

2) Find any active QTVDEVICE jobs in the QSYSWRK subsystem and end
them.
WRKACTJOB SBS(QSYSWRK) JOB(QTVDEVICE)

3) If APAR error SE45218, fixed by superseded PTF SI41306 has already
occurred where many extra virtual display device descriptions have been
created but special instructions for PTF SI41306 have not been
performed, you should delete all virtual display device descriptions
before applying this PTF and restarting servers to reduce the CPU
overhead to process many unused extra virtual display devices.
Required virtual devices will be automatically created by the system
using the QAUTOVRT - Autoconfigure virtual devices system value:
- Delete all QPADEVnnnn virtual virtual display device descriptions,
or if you are using your own naming convention, then delete all
autocreated virtual display device descriptions that match your
naming convention, using the Delete Device Description (DLTDEVD)
command.

4) Apply this PTF

5) If APAR error SE38514, fixed by superseded PTF SI35876 has already
occurred where extra virtual controller descriptions have been created
but special instructions for PTF SI41306 have not been performed,
you must delete all virtual work station controllers AFTER applying
this PTF:
- Delete all QPACTLnnnn and QVIRCDnnnn virtual work station
controllers, or if you are using your own naming convention, then
delete all virtual controllers that match your naming convention,
using the Delete Controller Description (DLTCTLD) command.

6) Restart required Telnet, Passthru, and Passthru Utilities servers:
STRCMNSVR SERVER(*UTILSVR)
STRCMNSVR SERVER(*PASTHR)
STRTCPSVR SERVER(*TELNET)

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPERSEDED PTF SI34406 :
=================================================

If you have the memory leak, applying the PTF will not recover the
leaked memory, it will only stop further leakage. To recover the leaked
memory, you need to end the Telnet server and all of the telnet device
manager jobs and both the Passthru servers and Passthru Utility server.

Default Instructions

THIS PTF CAN BE APPLIED IMMEDIATE OR DELAYED.
