Abstract

LIC-UNPRED SYSTEM CRASH WHEN IPLING AFTER RECEIVING ERROR FOR
IMMEDIATE APPLY OF PTF

Error Description

There are some cases when a user tries to apply an MF PTF *IMMED
and receives the following error:
"Immediate operation not allowed for MFxyz"

The user can then go ahead and try a delayed apply and
everything will be okay.  If the user chooses not to do a
delayed apply, then we have found a situation with a staged
compaction such that some of the modules in on the B side will
result in incorrect module information when the error is
received.    This can cause a B side IPL failure on the next
IPL.  It does not affect the A side IPL.

Problem Conclusion

This PTF will fix the situation where errors are received for
*IMMED apply attempts with a staged compaction.
