Registry error installing Rhapsody on Windows 7

Symptom

The following symptoms arise:

An issue invoking ReporterPlus from within Rhapsody and from the Start->Programs button. A Browse for Folder dialog is presented prompting user to Select Install Directory. During installation the installer issued the following "error": "Failed to create registry key Software\Telelogic\Telelogic Rhapsody ReporterPlus 7.5.2. In examining the registry, this entry was created under Current Users but it is basically empty.

Attempted to open Gateway from within a Rhapsody project and the following Exception was issued: "Invalid class string". Gateway project was not created.

After creating and saving a Rhapsody project, subsequent attempts to open the project fail and Rhapsody reports that the "VBA Initialization Failed".

Using the Developer for C++, when creating a Visual Studio configuration in a project, the Visual Studio 2008 IDE is opened and Rhapsody then reports that it "Failed to connect to Visual Studio".

After creating a DoDAF project and then selecting the "Setup DoDAF Packages" selection in Rhapsody, the following message is displayed:
"Please start Rhapsody and open a project before using DoDAF pack".

The DiffMerge tool selection did not appear under the selections associated with the Start->Programs button.
